Varsity will compete in 2 tournments:

Sunrise Mountain Tourney 2/23 thru 2/25. We do not yet have our schedule for this tournament so stay tuned and we will pass it along as soon as we get it.

Desert Mtn. /Horizon Tourney 3/16 thru 3/18- this is the Thursday – Saturday at the end of our spring break. Pool Play is already in the schedule in AzPreps.

CAMP

Camp will begin Monday the 23rd and go thru Thursday the 26th- will run from 2:30 to 4:30.

Water will be provided but please have your own water bottle 

Athletic and appropriate attire with softball gear

You may put your equipment in Coach Scott’s Room A105

Cost: $50 (includes camp shirt) cash, check, or Venmo ([email protected] )

TRYOUTS

Tryouts will take place Monday February 6th thru Thursday the 9th from 2:30 to 5. Teams will be announced on Thursday February 9th.

PRACTICE

First practice will Friday the 10th from 2:30 to 5:00 pm.

PARENT MEETING

There will be a parent meeting following practice on February 10th at 5:30pm in the Media Center. Please have one parent per player attend the meeting. Information about the season will be discussed and Horizon Softball swag will be available for order and purchase.

Pre Season begins Tuesday October 4th from 2:30-3:30 on the softball field. Please wear athletic gear and tennis shoes. Also, bring plenty of water to drink. Workouts will continue every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from October 4th through November 17th.

There will be a softball information meeting for players (new and returning) on Tuesday 9/20 at 2:30 in the Softball Clubhouse.

We have moved our fundraising night for Someburros- it is now on April 11th. Please invite all your friends, family, neighbors, etc. to eat there that night and mention Horizon Softball so that we can make it a successful fundraiser. Thank you for your help and support with this!

Remember that BTL night for Horizon softball is Wednesday February 16th 4:30-5:30pm. Stock up on all the gear that you need for the season and get 10% off!

Please read the player handbook and then print and sign the last page. Return the last page to Coach Jackie by Wednesday February 16th.

2/11 Parent Meeting at 5:30 pm in the Media Center (State 48 shirts and other Horizon Softball Gear will be sold)

Tuesday 2/15 half day: Varsity Uniform distribution at 1:30 and JV at 1:45. Team and Individual pictures with Terrie from 2:30 to 3:30. Practice immediately following from 3:30 to 5:30

2/16 Sanp Raise at 2:30 Practice 2:45 to 4:15

2/16 Horizon Softball night at Between the Lines (BTL located at the corner of Thunderbird and Scottsdale) from 4:30 to 5:30 (10% off except 2022 bats). To Plan Ahead: Varsity will wear white pants only this year.
JV will need white pants and light gray pants this year.

2/17 Scrimmage Varsity Away at Corona Del Sol at 4 Pm

2/28 Monday Yearbook Pictures at 2:30 pm

4/25 Banquet at 6 pm at Aunt Chiladas for both teams.

Tryouts

General Need to Knows

Club players ONLY: your last club games and practice WILL be Sunday, February 6th.

Games start February 24th (Varsity) and March 1st (JV) [subject to change as the schedule is still being finalized].

There is a tournament scheduled for spring break for Varsity.

Open fields will be Tuesday and Wednesday this week (1/18 and 1/19) from 2:30 to 3:30pm. Hope to see you there!

Open fields begin Monday 1/10 from 2:30 to 3:30. They will be every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday until January 24th.

Camp will run from Monday January 24th to Thursday the 27th from 2:30 to 4:30.

Tryouts are Monday February 7th thru Thursday February 10th from 2:30 to 3:30.

Friday February 11th team practice will be from 2:30 to 5pm.

Varsity only will scrimmage at Corona Del Sol at 4pm on Thursday February 17th.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with State 48 to create a custom Horizon High School design, which is now available on both shirts and stickers.  The proceeds from the sales will benefit the softball team.
